Research

An extremely important aspect of research here is the interdisciplinary collaboration between Earth System Sciences, the related natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology), and computer science and mathematics. The first step is to promote this interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Cologne.

Intelligent methods in research are used both in the experimental acquisition of Earth system data and in the evaluation and analysis of these data as well as for simulations.

The KPA's ideas are central to many research topics that are addressed in various programs and structures within the University of Cologne - in institutes, working groups and projects.
