Giulia Panegrossi received the Laurea degree in physics (summa cum laude) from Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy, in 1993 and the Ph.D. degree in atmospheric and oceanic sciences from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Madison, WI, USA, in 2004.
Research interests:
- Remote sensing of clouds and precipitation
- Passive microwave precipitation retrieval algorithms also based on machine learning
- Radiative transfer through and microphysics characterisation of precipitating clouds using models and observations
- Combined EO and modelling techniques for the analysis of heavy precipitation systems
- Development of microphysics schemes
- Cloud electrification and nowcasting techniques
