Pavlos Kollias is a Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University and has a joint appointment with the Department of Environmental and Climate Sciences at Brookhaven National Laboratory since 2016. He studied Physics at the University of Athens, and received his Ph.D. in Meteorology in 2000 from the University of Miami.

Research interests:

  • Understanding of the microphysical and dynamical processes that act at the cloud scale and their accurate representation in numerical models
  • Radar meteorology and technology
  • Development and application of novel phased-array and space-borne radars in weather and climate research
